Letter from the 2018 Commodore
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mike Janson and I have been a member of the Duck Club since 2014. I have also been a board member for the past two years. When I became a social member in 2014 I was instantly hooked. My wife Maureen and I now own two slips on F dock. We are the parents of two daughters and the grandparents of 3. We have been small business Owners for the last 41 years and I am looking forward to working alongside all of you.
I am incredibly excited to officially begin my term as Commodore of the Duck Club. I feel as though we have a great group on the board and I am excited for us to do some new things this year. Building membership is a top priority because I feel every member can make a difference. We need to recognize opportunities for growth and act on them. Retaining engaged, happy members is the key to increasing membership. People stay in a club where they feel like they belong. I will work to create an environment where you will feel free to relax and speak candidly. As a private club we are often a second home to our members. Being a first rate facility will enable us to stand out as the premier marina on the river. Let’s roll up our sleeves, motivate each other and help foster a friendly approachable environment so that every member and their families will be inspired. The Duck Club’s success and future is shaped by each of our members. I am honored to work side by side with all of you.
